Located on the main floor, the Norbeck Room has a king bed, private bath with shower and a jetted two person spa tub in the room. You can see Mount Rushmore from the windows and there is a patio door that accesses the west deck.
As a State Legislator Peter Norbeck recognized the need for development in the Black Hills. His first goal was to create a game preserve in order to re-stock the wildlife that should have been there. After getting that passed in 1912, he went on to spear-head the construction of the Needles Highway and the Iron Mountain Road (both are part of the Norbeck Scenic Byway). He is recognized as a man of vision at a time in history that it was so important to preserve the natural beauty of the area.
