wonderful host, she was extremely nice and gave lots of recommendations of things to do in the area. there was a lot of bugs but thats expected in the woods, and they do offer removal aswell. bathrooms were very clean and festive. I really enjoyed the privacy, woods, and homey feel
Cozy place, amazing hikes all around.
Had an amazing time here !!! Cabins were cozy and surrounded by the most peaceful nature which is exactly what we were wanting! Very responsive hosts, it was a pleasure to meet them!
Le logement était parfait. Paisible, propre et emplacement idéal à proximité de tout
Nice rustic cabins, very quiet & peaceful
Beautiful and quiet spot. Comfortable and clean beds. The walk to the bathroom was inconvenient and the towels were musty. Wonderful stay all around though.
I absolutely love this place!!! Sooooo cute! Peaceful and beautiful area! Right next to keystone and only 20 minute from Mount Rushmore! Couldn’t have been happier!
Host was responsive to all of our questions before and during the stay. Close to Keystone and Custer State Park. The size of the cabin was nice. Helped make our first family vacation fun and comfortable!
The cabin was perfect for our stay. A wonderful place to come home to after a busy days of activities. The weather was cloudy and light rain for the time we were there, but we were able to enjoy our time. Hope to come back!
Quiet place, worked out well for our little family. 9/10
Incredible stay, we had some unforeseen circumstances that Marilyn was able to accommodate. Would love to stay here again. Beautiful place and the stars at night were amazing. If you’re looking for a quiet place to get away for a while, this is definitely it.
We had a wonderful stay. Room was very comfortable and private. Area was beautiful and close to all attractions.
Marilyn was so welcoming and the accommodations were perfect for a glamping experience. She was so kind about my having dogs with me and I never felt unsafe.
This place is located perfectly for families wanting to bounce around doing day trips to Rapid City, Deadwood, Custer, Mount Rushmore, and all the little stuff to do in between while having the same bed every night. The cabin was great for our two big dogs, so glad to have a place we can stay with them. You cannot leave your pets unattended here but that was no problem for us as our boys were on trails with us the whole time. It did rain pretty hard while we were there and a lot of black moths came into the cabin (windows were not open) but they stayed on the ceiling and didn’t hinder my sleep at all. The detached bathroom/ shower was very nice and there is a portable potty closer to the cabins if you don’t feel like making the hike up at night. Beautiful little playground/ cookout area that families could take advantage of! Everyone in the other 4 cabins were polite and quiet so even though you weren’t the only cabin it wasn’t hard to feel like you were.
Marilyn was a great host! Se was very cordial and the cabin was very nice! The location is so scenic!
Marilyn’s was amazing. We can’t wait until she opens booking in October so we rebook for a week next August. We loved everything about the property. Thanks for an amazing place to stay at a reasonable price. We will definitely be back
We have stayed here two years in a row. Already planning our next trip. Love this place.
Very responsive, very helpful, lots of list of things to do and directions for best views/restaurants
It was a good location, close to Mt. Rushmore. The location was also very beautiful, however… the bathrooms at the top of the hill was frustrating especially if we just wanted to wash our hands. We enjoyed having the bathrooms cleaned everyday. Seen a lot of wildlife across the street and on the property which was super neat! - we had wished the cabin had more kitchen supplies so we could cook more. Since we were on a budget.
Great place to stay!! Met some great people staying at the other cabins. Will be back in a couple years with our grandson! Marylyn and the Location was wonderful!! Thank you!
Beautiful place for myself and my 3 kiddos! We explored the area and returned to do pizza and s’mores in the fire pit area. Very clean. Very friendly and gave us a great quick tour around the camp. Highly recommend!
Great location! Clean rooms and Darwin and his wife were fantastic! I didn’t get to meet Marilyn but I heard some great things about her.
My family really enjoyed their time here. It was great to disconnect and spend quality time with them away from all the distractions. And enjoy everything the area had to offer. Would highly recommend!
Had an awesome stay and had a great time!!
Marilyn was a Great Hostess..very informative and had great suggestions for 1, 2, 3 day excursions.
Marilyn & Gideon were great hosts. Only a couple small details made the stay not everything we hoped for: bring your own trash bags because trash isn't serviced. The bathroom is an up hill walk from your cabin which isn't great when it is an emergency. the hot plate only works with a specific pan -- this hindered what we could cook so most my food was wasted. plates provided were plastic & flimsy -- suggest bringing your own stuff. fridge is small so be prepared. cracks in cabin allowed light in & wasps to crawl in (rustic charm I suppose). Road leading there is very twisty curvy so be prepared for that. otherwise, they provided drinking water in the cabin via a jug system which was great. very quiet & far out there location. beautiful area.
Wonderful little cabins and common area with all the necessities and more inside and out. Bit of a trek up to bath house but worth it with beautiful bathrooms assigned to each cabin. Sink water was very warm but shower water did not warm up quite enough with on demand system even after running the water during entire shower otherwise no other negatives during stay whatsoever. Would definitely recommend and return in future. May not be a good place for older persons or those unable to walk up hill to use bathroom facilities.
if you have child it will be paradise. Very friendly environment for kids. And super clean bathrooms
Great place to stay! Very friendly and beautiful environment
Our dog loved it there. super cozy.
Was a beautiful place to stay.
Marilyn thought of everything! We really enjoyed our stay here. The area was beautiful and close to all the places we wanted to explore. The bathrooms were nice. We didn’t use it but there was a nice pavilion with a grill and some other things.
We had a wonderful time at your cabin! It was clean and well stocked with essentials. Our host was friendly and helpful. There was abundant wildlife. The location was excellent. I recommend this stay to others.
Wonderful little cabin, very neat and saw wildlife daily!
Marilyn and her place were fantastic! We hope to come back again.
This was a clean, comfortable and well organized spot. Marilyn was a helpful hostess and very responsive to our needs. The cabin and bathhouse were spotless. The only negative we experienced was that the common area around the picnic tables and shelter needed some TLC and tidying up. Marilyn’s suggested daily routes for sightseeing were extremely helpful. For some the distances involved (driving between spots) might be a bit long but what we saw was worth the miles driven.
Absolutely gorgeous. Would stay again anytime. Location is perfect and setting is pristine. Cabin was cozy and private bathroom very clean.
This is a great cabin! It's very nice and the bathroom in the shower house is nice and clean and private. I would stay here again.
Just what we were looking for
Very cool place. I’ve been off the grid, but I think everything in South Dakota is a bit off the grid as it was my first time being there. The Wi-Fi being available really helped and the bathrooms are separate from the cabin but very clean and very well-maintained. There was deer in the yard almost the entire time as well as some other animals and it made for me experience for me and my family
Wonderful Host in a picturesque location in the Black Hills. Will certainly return soon!
cute, cozy cabin! This place is a little gem that I'm happy we found! it's close enough to just about anything we wanted to do but with the serenity of being just outside of town. Marilyn and her whole team were very accommodating with any of our needs.
Wonderful place!!! Marilyn is absolutely wonderful!
This is a gem in a beautiful part of South Dakota. We had been driving for six days and this was a terrific place for a two night stay to rest up for the next part of our cross country journey. The bathroom was luxurious despite being a slight walk from the cabin. And the cabin was cozy and comfortable for us and our two small dogs.
We LOVED our time here. The shower house had impeccably clean bathrooms, there was always warm water, and clean linens. The cabin was comfortable and had lots of amenities. The location was right smack dab in the middle of all the places we wanted to go- and when rain forced us to make a change in plans, our hosts were able to offer recommendations on alternate activities. They have maps available and printed directions that come from the perspective of locals to all the major stops, which came in super useful when our GPS stopped working without cell signal. And of course we loved the company of adorable Rosie (their guardian puppy) and their cat tag-along on our walks to the shower house. 10/10 experience.
Our cabin stay was an amazing experience and we had a great time. Marilyn helped us get settled as we had a long drive from Virginia. We had everything we needed for our stay. The beds were comfortable and the cabin and the bathroom was very clean. The cabin was a peaceful retreat after exploring the black hills each day (total 5 nights). I am thankful that we were able to stay at this wonderful family property.
We had a nice stay at one of the cabins. The place matched the description. They have a nice communal area with a fire pit and chairs.
Lovely cabin stay
